"When you listen to the flow of Cole's lyrics, you can detect a little Lyle. Throw in a touch of Robert Earl Keen's wit, and you'll get a feel for where Risner's songwriting is rooted--right here in Texas!"-Gus Gustafson, Crossroads Music Company
“Cole’s songwriting ability sets him apart from his peers, with tunes that hit all the right chords musically and lyrically.”-Matt Meinke, Notably Texan 88.9 KETR
"A good songwriter can paint a picture that speaks directly to the soul of many people. Cole (Risner) has successfully done that with 'How It Feels to Me.' And he did it in a catchy, foot-tapping way. There are a lot of people who are going to whisper, 'he's singing about me in this song.' Cole shows once again how he can take a thought, moment or experience and turn it into a song that resonates with the masses." -Drew Myers, Defining Audacity Radio
